During a Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) emergency, you can see a rapid increase in temperature of 0.5℃ every 15 minutes! 🤒🔥

Here is our guide to cooling during MH:

At 41.5℃ and above we begin to see cell death, which is why cooling is a key clinical priority after dantrolene administration. Active cooling has been associated with greater patient outcomes than dantrolene administration alone.

Targets 🎯
👉 Commence cooling if above 38.5℃
👉 Cease cooling at 38℃

Methods 🧪
👉 Reduce ambient temperature
👉 Retrieve 2L of IV Saline from fridge
👉 Expose patient
👉 Place ice bags to all exposed body parts
